1960S AMERICA: A DECADE OF CHANGE
THE JOURNEY OF A BOOMER
welcome to the journey of a boomer
For those of you who are new to the term 'baby boomer’, it describes anyone who was born between the years 1944-1964. They are referred to as the ‘baby boomer generation’, as a huge population boom occurred, after World War Two. There are still over 76 million boomers in the US today, currently between the ages of 56-76. This demographic experienced a societal and cultural shift during the 1960s, with boomers emerging as the first generation of ‘teenagers’.
ABOUT
Me

My name is Tara Krishan and I am a second-year history student, at Leeds Beckett University. I have created this website on the baby boomer generation, for a module named ‘Digital History’, which I took this year (2020). This module was about digitising history and focused on the different aspects of the 1960s in America, from the US involvement in the Vietnam War to the Space Race. I felt a website could incorporate all of the digital skills I have learnt whilst undertaking this module, which has quite possibly been one of my favourites so far!

Check out the video below which contrasts the way we live our life today, to the 60s.
